Christmas Recipe: Ciambelline Al Vino Bianco
Here is a very easy recipe that our extraordinary Italian chef Paola wanted to share with you to add a bit of the Italian sweetness to your Christmas celebrations. Italy is not only about pizzas and pasta!
- 1 cup of granulated sugar (with a little more to put on each bun before baking)
- 1 cup of white wine
- 1 cup of vegetable oil, preferably peanut
- All purpose flour, as needed (about 3/4 cups)
- 1 pinch of baking soda
- Optional: 1 or 2 spoons of liqueur Strega
Mix the liquids, add the sugar then the flour to make a soft, workable dough. Create the donut-shaped buns starting from thin loaves, sprinkle each one with granulated sugar on the upper side only and bake at 350° F (180° celcius) for about 15 minutes.
