Florence Food Tour
Come taste the culinary delights of Florence through this fantastic, family-friendly food tour of Florence’s central market and neighboring typical wine shops and gelato parlors.
Food is one of the main reasons why Italy is so popular for visitors, and Florence has many local specialties that will make both you and your children want to eat it all!
Once you have had a quick breakfast (with tea, coffee or orange juice and a typical pasty) at a typical cafe, follow your private guide (which also happens to be a passionate foodie) as she takes you through the stalls of Florence’s central market in search of the city’s finest culinary delicacies. From pasta making stalls to cured meats and cheese, from traditional seasonal vegetables to the purest olive oils, you will see and taste it all.
During this first leg of the tour, you will also get to feel the energy and particular ambiance of this lively area, as well as taste some of the local specialties. And once all this is done, climb up to the second floor to sit down and taste the famous Trapizzino, which your children will love.
The second part of the tour takes place in a beautiful wine shop just a stone’s throw away from the market. There you willbe able to taste some delicious local cheese, olive oil and cured meats accompanied by a nice glass of wine or two. The children will have juice and will be able to gaze at the thousands of wine bottles on display in this private part of the wine cellar.
Finally, because every meal should end with a sweet note, head out to one of the most famous (and therefore most delicious) gelato parlors in the city. Here, the ice cream is made fresh and no artificial flavor is added!
