Marseille Soap Experience
Discover the great-smelling world of soap through a fun-filled and engaging visit of a soap factory, a soap museum and a soap hands-on workshop.
Marseille is famous for its soap. For centuries, it has produced large quantities of soap, and still today, Marseille still has the reputation of being the capital of soap in France.
This fun-filled discovery of the world of soap start with the visit of a traditional soap factory in the heart of Marseille. Through a private 30 minute tour, you and your children will see all the steps of making a soap, from the chemical mix and reaction to the final stamped and packaged product.
It takes about 20 minutes by foot to reach the Soap museum, through the lively streets of modern day Marseille. Once arrived, you will be welcomed by an expert and passionate soap maker. Let him tell you all about the history of soap, from the early days when this product was a luxury to the modern day mass production. You will have this small museum to yourself so you’ll be able to immerse yourselves in the world of soaps.
Finally, your private soap maker will take you to the workshop right next to the museum. There, everyone will get to brand their own soap with the design they chose. A perfect way to bring the delicious lavender (or other) smells of the French Riviera back home!
