Description

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide at the foot of the Cathedral of Naples and let him/her take you through the narrow and animated streets of the city in search of its most iconic highlights and best kept secrets.

After a visit of the Cathedral of Naples and learning about the miracle of the city’s patron saint of Naples, Saint Januarius, follow your guide as he/she takes you to via San Gregorio Armeno, a small street famed for the many shops selling representations of the nativity scene (and other popular characters).

After a quick look at these curiosities, your guide will take you in the underground ruins of a 2000-year-old Roman market, and then continue to the Cappella Sansevero where you will discover the beautiful statue of the Veiled Christ by Giuseppe Sanmartino. The guide will then take you to Piazza San Dominico, and point out several interesting curiosities on the way. The tour finished at Santa Chiara Convent, with its beautiful, colored ceramics in the cloister.

To keep the children engaged throughout the tour, they will each have a fun-filled game booklet. A stop in one of the many delicious local pastries is also included in this family-friendly experience.

FAQ's

Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour. All the visited places are open to the public so there will be other visitors.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. But our family-friendly guide will be able to adapt to younger children if necessary. It’s also possible to bring your stroller although the cobblestone streets of Naples make it difficult to navigate.
Do we go into the listed areas?
Yes, you will enter the Cathedral, the underground ruins, the Cappella Sansevero and Santa Chiara Convent. There are also a lot of other areas or curiosities that will be pointed out by the guide, but will not be accessible inside.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you chose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a baby sitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
How difficult is the walking part?
This part of Naples is flat, so the walking is not difficult. And since we design our walking tours for families, the distances are very reasonable and don’t require too much effort.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. Just remember to bring an umbrella. There are plenty of areas where you will be able to hide from the rain.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
