Exploring The Ruins Of Pompeii
Explore the iconic archaeological site of Pompeii and learn about its tragic fate with a private, family-friendly guide.
Meet your private, fully licensed guide at the entrance of Pompeii (Porta Marina Superior) and let him/her take you through the ruins if this ancient Roman city. He/she will tell you all about the life of its inhabitants 2,000 years ago and their tragic fate following the explosion of the Vesuvius in 79BC.
After entering the ancient city through what remains of the fortification walls, let your guide take you to some of the key areas of the city: the forum, which was the heart of the city, the “basilica”(which, in those times, was not a church, but a tribunal), the thermal baths, a few houses and shops, and the theater.
You will also hear about the way people lived at that time, and see that the Roman civilization was already very developed and modern.
To keep the children engaged and entertained throughout this 3-hour visit, they will each get a game booklet. This will have them learn about the secrets of Pompeii, the excavation works and the explosion in 79 BC while having fun
