Murano Glass Making Workshop
Discover the excitement and joy of creating your own glass decoration in a quaint little private atelier in Venice, and understand how Murano glass is made.
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a real glass artist and make your own glass decorations?
When it comes to glass, Murano has a worldwide repuration. Although the industry has slowed down and many factories are tourist traps, let us take you to a private and authentic workshop in the heart of Venice, where you and your family will learn all about glass making… and make your own Murano glass masterpiece.
This fun-filled and highly educational2 hour private glass making workshop is animated by a private, passionate glass maker, who still carries on the tradition of making glass just like in Murano in the past. Although located on the island of Venice (and not on Murano), this workshop is far superior than the all to touristic glass factories on the island of Murano.
After a few instructions and safety tips, it will be your turn to create colorful glass tiles. You can do what you want, but for a perfect Venetian souvenir, you might want to recreate an iconic Venetian element such as St. Mark’s Campanile or a winged lion! During this workshop, our expert glass maker will teach you all the techniques, but will also perform a demonstration of glass blowing.
Because glass has to cook for at least 24 hours, we will deliver your creations to your hotel in Venice in the following days. Shipment directly to your home can also be arranged (additional costs apply).
The Murano Glass Making Workshop is the perfect combination of fun, entertainment and education in a safe and charming environment. A perfect way for you and your children to dive into the history and secrets of this traditional Murano craft.
