Description

Meet your private, experienced art teacher and follow their instructions in order to make the fanciest carnival mask.

This fun-filled hands-on workshop is held in a private atelier in the heart of Venice. After a brief introduction on the history of Carnival masks and what they each represent, each member of your family will choose a mask style made in paper-maché: will it be the leper doctor with its traditional long nose, or something a little more discreet?

You will have all the material at your disposal to decorate your mask: feathers, glitter, paint etc.

After this 2-hour workshop, you will walk away with your own self-made carnival mask.

If you want to know more about the Carnival, why not go for our Carnival of Venice & Museum tour, which includes a privately guided visit of the Ca’Rezzonico museum, one of Venice’s most impressive museums.

Do the parents participate?
Of course! Everyone will be creating their own carnival mask. That is the fun part!
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
Yes, younger children are welcome to participate, but our teacher is not a babysitter, so the parents should keep a very close eye on what the child is doing.

Yes! Unlike other Carnival mask ateliers, you will be able to choose the type of mask you want to decorate and use all the decoration options that exist. Like this, you are sure to have the most beautiful and stylish mask!
Do I need to bring special material?
No! You don’t need to bring anything as all the material is prepared for you.
Are we leaving the workshop with anything?
Of course, you will leave the workshop with your masks. They are light and easy to carry, unless you want to wear them when hopping onto the plane! (not recommended though)
Will my teenage kids like the activity?
Yes, definitely. Everyone loves this activity. It is both interesting and fun, and the result is usually mind-blowing in terms of beauty.
