Day 1 – Cruise on the Thames and the British Museum
Welcome to London! Our English-speaking chauffeur will wait for you at the train station or airport. He will drive you to your Hotel / Apartment in a car fully equipped for your kids’ safety. You will then discover your British home and the little surprises we prepared in your room.
Our private chauffeur will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to the London Eye. Our private guide will be waiting for you to jump aboard the catamaran called a Thames Clipper.
It would be unthinkable to come to London for the first time and not cruise along the River Thames – the life’s blood of London. After a long journey, there’s nothing better than getting out in the fresh air and our cruise on the majestic River Thames will certainly blow the cobwebs away! Most visitors sail up and down the Thames with no idea of what they are looking at, or the marvelous stories behind the buildings they are passing. At Family Twist, this won’t happen to you, because we have arranged your own personal guide and a Thames Teaser activity which will keep your children’s eyes glued to the riverbank, all the while informing and entertaining the whole family.
After the boat tour, you will enjoy a short walk with your guide and cross the Thames on the Millennium bridge from the Tate modern to Saint Paul’s cathedral.
Then our private chauffeur will drive you to the British Museum where you will meet your guide and step back in the Ancient times.
Let’s start with a game solving clues about the mummies and decrypting the Rosetta Stone in the world’s largest collection of Ancient Egyptian artifacts outside Egypt. After a jump back in time, you can also explore the marbles from the Parthenon, and solve some more riddles… a fascinating way to unearth the human mysteries in this unique museum with its modern design.
After your visit our private chauffeur will drive you back to your hotel.
We will provide you with some recommendations of children-friendly restaurants within walking distance of your hotel. A nice way to finish your first day in London!
Day 2 – A Royal Experience and a Chocolate Workshop
After your breakfast, our private chauffeur will pick you up at your hotel and drive you to Buckingham Palace where you will meet your guide for our A Royal Experience tour.
You will learn everything about the Queen and follow in the footsteps of Kate and William on their Wedding Day by visiting Westminster Abbey. You will also have a chance to admire the guards outside Buckingham Palace – will they be on foot or on horseback? Hear lots of stories about the four living generations of the Monarchy, from Queen Elizabeth II down to Baby George.
In the afternoon, to continue on the royal theme, enjoy our chocolate workshop with our charismatic Master Chocolatier and learn everything about how chocolate came to London, the rise of the City’s Cocoa Houses, and how Cadbury brought his goodies to the UK’s masses. Of course then it will be time to prepare, cut, dip and decorate your very own yummy handmade choccies!
Then our private chauffeur will drive you back to your hotel.
Day 3 – The Tower of London
Our private chauffeur will wait for you at your hotel and drive you to the train station or the airport.
Before you leave, if you have time, we would recommend you to visit the Tower of London. Learn everything about this medieval building so iconic in the London landscape. From a palace to a scary prison, it has many secrets to reveal. You will of course have the chance to admire the Crown jewels and its 23578 gems.
Once back at home, your head full of memories, you will receive some more souvenirs of your Family Twist break.
