Day 1 – The castle of Tintin and a fencing masterclass
As an introduction to the Loire Valley, we thought your kids would be inspired by the castle which inspired the famous Moulinsart, the castle of Tintin: Cheverny.
After this visit, you will reach a privately owned castle for your first hands on activity: a fencing masterclass.
Experience this age-old discipline in a safe environment with a personal fencing master at a 16th-century château. Your teacher will tell you many of the secrets you need to excel at this sport – or should we say art?
At night, you will reach your 4 star manor house in the heart of Amboise.
Day 2 – Chenonceau and a costumed visit
In the morning, after a swim at your hotel, you will visit one of the jewels of the area: Chenonceau, the “chateau des dames”.
In the afternoon, you will travel to a family-owned castle, you will be dressing up in authentic costumes, enjoying the visit to the 18 fairytale gardens in a different way. But what would playing knights and damsels be without the chance to master the art of ancient handwriting: calligraphy. Fortunately an introduction to this is also planned!
At night, you will reach your 4 star castle for a royal night.
Day 3 – Da Vinci’s castle and sailing down the Loire river
After a visit to the Clos Lucé in Amboise, the last Da Vinci residence, a car will pick you up and drive you to a pier.
Let your family discover the last truly wild river in France aboard a traditional wooden boat.
You will even learn how to fish, and you’ll get the opportunity to try your chances and drop in a line. to another castle from which you will start your adventure on the Loire River.
