Description

There is no better way to experience the center of Amsterdam than to walk through its narrow, charming streets and along its numerous canals.

Meet your private, experienced guide as they take you to some of the most iconic places of Amsterdam, avoiding the over-crowded central street. Start off this 2,5-hour walking tour where Henry Hudson embarked on a boat that took him to America… Then, follow your guide as they take you to one of the most surprising curiosities of your visit: a church in the attic of a traditional house (Ons’ Lieve Heer Op Solder). This will also give you an idea of how people used to live back in the 17th century in Holland.

Other iconic monuments and highlights seen along the way are the impressive Royal Palace and the beautiful inner courtyard of Begijnhof.

During this tour, your children will each receive a fun-filled game booklet that will keep them engaged throughout the discovery. There are also plenty of shops where you can buy a drink or a snack for your children if needed. This privately guided walking tour will help you feel the essence and witness the beauty of Amsterdam in a fun, educative and engaging way.

A visit of the Red Light District can be included if requested and if the children are old enough, but is not included in our basic tour.

FAQ's

Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. But our family-friendly guide will be able to adapt to younger children if necessary. It is also possible to bring your stroller. There are many snack shops where you will be able to buy something to eat or drink for your children along the way.
Can we see the Red Light District?
We have designed a family-friendly walking tour, so the Red Light District is not included. However, we can include a quick walk through this famous district if requested, without additional charge or additional time.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
How difficult is the walking part?
Amsterdam is a flat city, so the walking is not difficult. And since we design our walking tours for families, the distances are very reasonable and do not require too much effort.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. Just remember to bring an umbrella. There are plenty of areas where you will be able to hide from the rain.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
