FAQ's

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the visit. However, there will be other people visiting the Colosseum and the Roman Forum at the same time.
How long will we stay in the Colosseum and the Roman Forum?
The visit of the Colosseum will take a little bit less than 2 hours, and the rest of the time will be spent at the Roman Forum.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
When is the best time to visit the Colosseum?
During the summer season and special holidays, there is no best time, as the Colosseum and the Roman Forum are always very crowded. But the skip-the-line tickets will avoid any long waits in line. The crowds are less in the winter months. In May or September, the weather is pleasant, and the crowds are manageable.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. But our family-friendly guide will be able to adapt to younger children if necessary.
Will we have to wait in line?
We provide skip-the-line tickets, but on very busy days, there might be a line for security checks which cannot be avoided.
Will we visit the undergrounds and the panoramic view terrace of the Colosseum?
The underground parts of the Colosseum and the panoramic view terrace are not included in the tour for two reasons: first of all because there is no time, and secondly, these are special tours only provided by the Colosseum with their guides. These guides are not used to handling families with children.
Once the tour is finished, can we stay inside the Roman Forum or get back inside the Colosseum?
After this 3-hour tour, you can stay inside the Roman Forum and walk through the ruins a little longer. But if you leave the archeological area, you will not be able to get back inside with the same ticket. It is also not possible to get back inside the Colosseum.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Although the Colosseum has a wheelchair access, it is not possible to get inside the Roman Forum as there are no dedicated paths. It is therefore not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! It’s probably what they have been waiting for, and they will get beautiful pictures and selfies for their social media accounts!
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. Just remember to bring an umbrella. There are plenty of areas where you will be able to hide from the rain.
