Description

Believe it or not, the Château de Chambord, which features 440 rooms, 282 fireplaces, and 84 staircases, was used as a hunting lodge, and only welcomed the king of France for 72 nights! A very surprising fact when standing in front of such a beautiful castle.

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide and let them lead you inside the Château de Chambord, one of the major highlights of the Loire Valley. With interesting stories about the castle, its architecture and about the person who ordered its construction, King Francis I, your guide will keep your family engaged and entertained throughout the whole 2-hour tour, which is a unique way to teach your kids about Renaissance art.

Among the highlights of the castle, you will discover the famous double helix staircase (designed by Leonardo Da Vinci), the grand fireplaces, the beautiful terraces and much more. You will even hear how the Mona Lisa ended up hidden here during World War II!

FAQ's

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour. But there will be other people visiting the Chateau de Chambord of course.
How can I get there?
The best way is by car. If you want us to handle the transfer from your hotel to the chateau de Chambord and back, please let us know.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. Younger kids are welcome and will be amazed by the grandeur of the Château.
Will we have to wait in line?
We provide skip-the-line tickets, but on very busy days, there might be a line for security checks which cannot be avoided. The wait will not last long though.
Once the tour is finished, can we stay inside the Château or go back in?
Yes, you can stay in the chateau or walk in the park (a very nice stroll). But once you leave the premises, it will not be possible to get back inside.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Unfortunately, the Château de Chambord is not accessible to wheelchairs and strollers.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
