DAY 3: MEDIEVAL PARIS AND THE IMPRESSIONISTS

Morning: Notre Dame and Medieval Paris

In the morning, you will make your way to the starting point of this private Medieval Paris walking tour. Follow your guide as they take you back to some 800 years ago to a time when knights, dames, monks and beggars roamed the cobblestone streets of Paris. From Hôtel de Sens, one of the last medieval mansions still standing, make your way toward Notre Dame Cathedral through narrow medieval streets and passing by the ruins of the 12th century fortification wall that once protected the citizens of Paris from possible barbaric invasions. The tour ends at Notre Dame Cathedral, built more than 850 years ago and saved from destruction thanks to Victor Hugo’s famous novel, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. Each child will get a game booklet to keep them engaged. Lunch at leisure in the area.

Afternoon: In the Footsteps of the Impressionists

In the afternoon, you will meet your private, experienced art teacher in front of the Orangerie Museum. They will take you through the museum’s highlights, including Monet’s Water Lilies for about 40 minutes. With these images still fresh in your minds, and after a 15-minute drive to the atelier in a private minivan, you will arrive at the workshop. In a cozy atmosphere, everyone will participate in the creation of a giant family Impressionist reproduction of the Water Lilies using pastels.
