Flamenco is the typical music of Spain. Originally based on folkloric music coming from the south of Spain (Andalusia, Extremadura, Murcia), it has now become a kind of music and dance played all over the country and enjoyed by all.

The recognizable technique and melodies of the singers (cante), the classic guitar (toque), the heel-stomping rhythms of the dancers and percussionists and, last but not least, the hand-clapping (palmas) are all part of this fascinating music.

Meet your private, experienced dance instructor and let them show you the moves that will make you a great flamenco dancer. The course is divided into 3 different parts.

A 45-minute dance lesson, followed by a fun-filled 45-minute percussion (cajón) lesson, and, last but not least, a private 20-minute Flamenco show featuring a professional flamenco singer, dancer and musician (guitar). And if you feel confident enough, you and your children are more than welcome to participate!

Is this a private activity?
It sure is. You will have your own private Flamenco teacher, as well as a dedicated room inside the school of Flamenco. There will be other people inside the school as this is a big institution in Madrid.
Do the parents participate?
Of course! Everyone will be dancing and playing the cajon.
Do we need to know how to dance or play music?
Not at all, everyone is welcome. Of course, if you have a good feel for rhythm, this will be a little easier, but the idea is to have fun and learn about Flamenco.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this for children that are older than 6 years old as they need a lot of coordination for the dancing and playing sessions. However, younger children are welcome.
Can we learn another dance?
No, this school is entirely dedicated to Flamenco, and no other type of dancing can be taught here.
Do I need to bring special material?
No! You do not need to bring anything except for comfortable shoes to dance in. Of course, if you want to bring your favorite dance shoes, you can.
Are we leaving the workshop with anything?
You will leave the workshop with a small gift related to flamenco.
Will my teenage kids like the activity?
If your teenage kids like dancing and music, it will surely be very interesting. But if they don’t really care for music and dance, then we recommend not to book this activity and to check out some of our other activities instead.
