DESCRIPTION

What is the link between Dracula, the Leprechauns, Gulliver, Ulysses and Dorian Gray? Well, they all came from Ireland.
Our Stories, Myths and Legends of Ireland tour is all about the famous writers and poets of Dublin. Meet your private, fully-licensed guide near Merrion Square and let them introduce you to some of Ireland’s greatest writers and storytellers such as Oscar Wilde, James Joyce, Bram Stoker and many more.
Start this walking tour by discovering Oscar Wilde, the author of the philosophical novel The Picture of Dorian Grey, and his statue in Merrion Square. Then head out to the pharmacy which inspired James Joyce‘s Ulysses, the house where Bram Stoker, the author of Dracula lived and many other places related to the incredible literary heritage of Ireland.
Another stop worth mentioning is Marsh’s Library, the oldest public library in Dublin, where all these famous writers and poets have spent hours on end reading books and enjoying the intimate ambiance of a library.
The last stop is Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, were Jonathan Swift, author of Gulliver’s Travels became Dean in the early 18th century.

FAQ's
Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the walk.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
Although this is designed to keep both parents and children engaged and entertained, children younger than 6 will not enjoy it. So we do not find this tour suitable for children under the age of 6.
Do we go inside Marsh’s Library and Saint Patrick’s Cathedral?
Yes! Entrance to those two areas is included, and you will be able to discover the interior of these iconic landmarks. Please note that you won’t be able to stay inside Marsh’s Library, but you can stay inside Saint Patrick’s Cathedral at the end of the tour should you wish to do so.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a baby sitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
How difficult is the walking part?
Dublin is a flat city, so the walking is not difficult. But this is a 3-hour tour, meaning that the walking is longer than our usual walking tours. This is not difficult for adults, but it can be a little challenging for young children.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. Just remember to bring an umbrella. There are plenty of areas where you will be able to hide from the rain.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
