Description

Meet your private Blue Badge guide and chauffeur at your hotel in Inverness and hop into a private minivan to reach the western part of the Highlands.

Your first stop will be the mysterious Eilean Donan Castle. Some say that it is still haunted… Your guide will tell you all about the castle, from its construction to the fine details of its architecture.

Then, you will head out to the Isle of Skye, one of the most beautiful sights there is to see in the region. According to the time and your desires, your guide will bring you to some of the island’s highlights, but also trying to keep away from the mass tourism destinations.

Lunch is at leisure, but your guide will know where to bring you for a delicious, family-friendly meal.

At the end of the day, your chauffeur guide will bring you back to Inverness.

 

Note: There is a lot of driving during this tour, so be ready to spend quite some time in the minivan.

How far is the Isle of Skye from Inverness?
It takes more than 2,5 hours to reach the center of the Isle of Skye from Inverness. As mentioned in the tour's description, there will be quite a lot of time spent in the minivan.
Can we visit The Isle of Skye in one day from Edinburgh or Glasgow?
No, this is impossible, especially with children. For your comfort, it is recommended to stay in Inverness (if not closer or on the Isle of Skye).
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
Yes, children cannot do this tour alone, even if they are accompanied by a baby-sitter.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
Rain in these northern areas is far from being uncommon. So our activity is rain or shine. For security reasons, you might be able to access certain natural areas because of the slippery terrain.
