Description

Meet your private, experienced Blue-Badge guide and chauffeur in the beautiful city of Inverness and hop into a private minivan to reach the most famous lake of the Scottish Highlands: Loch Ness.

First off, start by enjoying a 1-hour private boat tour. You will be amazed by the beauty and vasteness of the landscapes. Your guide will give you many anecdotes about this lake and its famous legend: Nessie the Loch Ness monster. This special boat is equipped with a Sonar, so your children will be able to monitor what lurks beneath the quiet surface of the lake…Will you be able to spot the Loch Ness Monster?

Once the boat trip is over, head out to Urquhart Castle and discover the history of this stunning old castle (now in ruins). Built in the 13th century, this castle played an important role during the independence wars of the 14th century. Once the visit is over (and the game booklet has been properly filled out by the children), your driver will take you back to Inverness.

FAQ's

Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is a private tour. You will have a private chauffeur guide, as well as a private boat trip. However, there will be other people visiting Urquhart Castle.
How far is Loch Ness from Inverness?
It takes about 30 minutes to reach the tip of Loch Ness from the center of Inverness, and you'll have to ride another 15 to 20 minutes to reach Urquhart Castle.
Can we visit Loch Ness from Edinburgh in one day?
Driving from Edinburgh or Glasgow to the Loch Ness and Urquhart castle is a long drive. It is better to stay in Inverness for the night. Besides, there are many other things to see and do in the area, as well as on the road between Edinburgh and Inverness.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a baby sitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
What happens if it rains during the tour?
Rain in these northern areas is far from being uncommon. So our activity is rain or shine. For security reasons, and in case of terrible weather, only the boat operator will decide to cancel the boat tour or not.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
They definitely will, as the Loch Ness Monster is a classic we are sure they will want to know more about!
