In The Footsteps Of Sherlock Holmes

Discover the stories of London’s criminals through this privately-guided, family-friendly walking tour.
Cultural Visit
2 hours
Private Certified Guide
Game Booklet included

Just like in all major cities, crime and punishment have always been a part of London. But what makes England’s capital stand out is the fact that some of the most famous real or fictional criminals and heroes are in some way related to London. Everyone has heard of the blood-chilling Jack The Ripper or Moriarty as well as heroes such as Sherlock Holmes.
Meet your private Blue Badge guide in front of Saint Paul’s Cathedral and follow them as they take you and your family on a 2-hour walking tour you will never forget. The stories your guide will tell you will send shivers down your spine, regardless of the age of your children, but are also a great way to learn more about the city and the treasure it hides.
Your family will also get a chance to see the outside of St. Bartholomew The Great church (aka Great St. Bart’s), which was built in the 12th century.
To keep the children engaged and entertained throughout the tour, they will be handed out a game booklet designed more or less like a game of Clue (Cluedo). They will have to open their eyes and ears in order to find who the murderer is!
This more off-the-beaten-path experience is a great way to see another side of London, and still learn as much as you have fun, especially for teenagers.

This tour is available in the following languages : English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Portuguese

Meeting Point: Saint Paul’s Cathedral
Finish: Saint John’s Gatehouse

"My family just completed the Sherlock Holmes Walking tour. The tour provided a distinctive opportunity to learn more about the history of London, off the beaten path. The crime and punishment theme played out very well and as we learned is a large part of London’s past. Our tour guide was engaging and knowledgeable about the tour as well as topics related to London in general such as showing us buildings damaged by the blitz. I highly recommend this tour!" - Maureen

Is this tour private?

Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the visit.

Is there a lot of walking during the tour?

Because our tours are designed for families with children, we make sure the distances are not too long. There are places to stop to buy a snack along the way, so you will be able to treat your children to something sweet during the tour if you want. That will keep them going!

Are the parents staying with the children or separated?

We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).

Is it suitable for kids under 8 years old?

Because of the theme and difficulty of the game, this activity is not suitable for kids under the age of 8.

Are we going inside the highlights mentioned?

There is no time to go inside Saint Paul’s Cathedral, as a visit of this place would easily take 1 hour already. Entrance into Saint Bartholomew the Great is included.

Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?

Yes, it is possible to bring a stroller or wheelchair.

What happens if it rains?

The tour will take place, even if it rains. Just make sure you drink an umbrella or rain jacket.

Will my teenage kids like the tour?

Sure they will. As a matter of fact, the game booklet has been designed for older children, so this is the perfect activity for teens.
