Description
Edinburgh Castle is located at the top of a cliff in the heart of the old city, and because it dominates the city’s skyline, it has become the iconic landmark of Edinburgh.
Meet your private, fully-licensed guide at the entrance of the Castle and follow them inside as its fascinating history unravels. Once inside (we provide skip-the-line tickets), let your guide tell you all about Edinburgh Castle and the historic events that have taken place here.
Among the many curiosities you will see are the Crown Jewels. The crown and scepter are kept in one of the oldest parts of the Castle. Also visible is the Stone of Destiny (Stone of Scone), which is still used today by the English Royal Family!
Other interesting areas of the Castle are St. Margaret’s Chapel (the oldest chapel in Edinburgh), the Great Hall and the prisons, as well as a dog cemetery.
To keep the children engaged and entertained, they will each receive a fun-filled game booklet.
ATTENTION: Access to the Crown Jewels and the Great Hall is not granted to guides. Your guide will give you the comments in the courtyard outside, and you will then visit both areas without them.
