Description

Amsterdam is often referred to as the Venice of the North, which is not surprising when you see the canals and bridges there are.

Meet your private, experienced guide in front of the Canal Museum and start this wonderful tour by visiting this highly interactive museum. Our guides cannot guide inside this museum, as this is a real immersive experience with sound and light about the construction of Amsterdam and its canals, so you will be visiting this great museum with an audio-guide to get the best experience.

Right after this 45-minute visit, hop on board a private luxurious boat and enjoy this entertaining cruise as you discover some of the highlights of Amsterdam: the Dancing Houses and the Skinny Bridge, the 7 Bridges and the Golden Bend, among many other places. This boat tour lasts about 1.5 hours.

With a game booklet in hand, and fun facts given by your guide, your children will enjoy this lovely cruise along the Amsterdam canals as much as you.

FAQ's

Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide and your own boat throughout the tour.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. But our family-friendly guide will be able to adapt to younger children if necessary.
What is inside the Canal Museum?
It is a great museum for children (and adults!) as it explains the construction of Amsterdam and its canals through a very interactive exhibition. The tour is only with audio guides, as it is synched with a sound and light show, so our guide will wait for you outside.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Will I get seasick?
If you really do not like being on a boat, you might get sea sick, but this is very (very) rare as there are no waves in the canals other than those created by other boats. If you get seasick easily or have issues with motion sickness, you might want to consider skipping this activity or at least getting some medicine as it is really a nice tour!
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. The boat is covered, so you will not get wet! If the tour is cancelled by the boat company for safety reasons, the tour will be either reimbursed or postponed.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
