Description

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide and your chauffeur at your hotel in Barcelona and hop into a private, fully-equipped Mercedes V-class minivan to reach the Montserrat mountain range.

Montserrat is not only famed for its beautiful mountains, but also for its Benedictine abbey which some believe is the location of the Holy Grail.

Once arrived in Monserrat, follow your guide into the cable car to reach the top of the mountains. From there, you will have a beautiful view on the surrounding landscape.

Let your guide tell you all about the history of the fascinating abbey, built in the 11th century and rebuilt between the 19th and the 20th century. As you visit the interior of the abbey, remember that it is still the home and praying area of more than 70 monks, so please dress respectfully!

Once the visit is over, you will be driven back to Barcelona.

Is this a private activity?
It sure is. Your family members will have your own private guide, chauffeur and Mercedes V-class minivan at your disposal for half a day. However, there will be other people inside the cable car and inside the abbey.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (the skipper is not responsible for the children).
How long does it take to drive to Montserrat?
It takes approximately 1 hour to get there, and 1 hour to drive back, but this can depend on the traffic.
Do we need to wear something special?
You will be visiting an active abbey, where more or less 70 monks live and pray. Please wear respectful clothing that covers shoulders and knees.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
This visit is perfect for children aged 6 or older, but younger children will be accepted. Our mini-vans have booster seats, and our guides will be able to adapt their stories and fun-facts to the ages of the children.
Will teenagers like this activity?
Of course, they will. Because it is a privately guided tour, your guide will adapt to the ages of the children and will know how to keep the teenagers engaged.
