Description

The Royal Palace is one of Madrid’s highlights, and its beauty and historical interest make it a priority in your list of things to see in Madrid.

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide in front of the Royal Palace and let them take you inside this royal residence. Although not inhabited anymore, this massive palace is still used for special events and formal state receptions today.

Learn all about the history of the Spanish Royal family and make your way through the state rooms, from the reception halls to the large dining room and the throne room. Your guide will point out some of the most beautiful paintings, decorative objects and the impressive collection of Stradivarius string instruments.

Once you exit the Palace itself, and if you still have a bit of time, you will be able to admire the view on Madrid from the panoramic terrace, and maybe even see the collection of armour.

To keep your children engaged and entertained throughout the tour, they will each get a game booklet which will turn the Royal Palace into a playground.

WARNING: The Royal Palace can close without prior notice if needed by the state.

FAQ's

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the visit. However, there will be other people visiting the Royal Palace at the same time.
When is the best time to visit the Royal Palace?
During the summer season and special holidays, there is no better time, as the Royal Palace is always crowded. But the skip-the-line tickets will avoid any long waits in line to enter the Palace. The crowds are less in the winter months.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet.
Will we have to wait in line?
We provide skip-the-line tickets, but on very busy days, there might be some waiting (security checks). Our guides will do their best to try to avoid these lines.
How do we visit the Royal Palace?
There is a one-way itinerary through the state rooms that every visitor has to follow. You will not be able to jump from one room to another without following this particular route.
Once the tour is finished, can we stay in the Royal Palace?
You can stay inside the courtyard and visit the armory, but you will not be able to head back inside the state rooms.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Yes, it is possible to bring a stroller or a wheelchair.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will. They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
