Description

Meet your private Blue Badge guide in front of the Tower of London and get ready for a fun-filled tour as they take you to the highlights of this iconic monument of London.

For over 900 years, the Tower of London has dominated the city’s skyline. Through the centuries, it has served as a fortress, a royal palace, a prison, a jewel house and even a zoo!

Follow your family-friendly guide as they tell you about the secrets of the Tower of London and its world-famous Crown Jewels, which were mostly made for the coronation of Charles II in 1661.

Other highlights include the memorial on Tower Green, which marks the execution site of ten people, (including 3 English queens), the beautiful Chapel Royal of St. Peter ad Vincula, the famous ravens and raven-masters, Traitor’s Gate, and the “Bloody Tower”.

To make sure your kids have a wonderful moment, our guide will hand out fun-filled game booklet to each child.

If the lines are too long for the Crown Jewels, the guide will offer the possibility to visit the White Tower, housing a wonderful display of armors and an interactive area on the history of the Tower of London on the upper floor. You will then be able to visit the Crown Jewels at the end of the tour on your own.

TESTIMONIALS:

– “Our Family Twist guide, Marguerite, was incredible. My husband and I travelled to London with 2 ten year old granddaughters. We spent 3 mornings with Marguerite. We did the Tower of London tour, the Westminster to Buckingham tour, and the Kensington Palace tour. They were all fantastic. Marguerite kept the girls engaged and taught them more than I would have thought possible. And, she could tell when they needed a little break, so we would stop and sit down and have a snack. The girls adored her. So did we. The workbooks that the children receive make the experience even more meaningful for them. To see 2 ten year olds discussing the Stuart Kings at dinner, after a day with Marguerite, is priceless. If you ask for Marguerite, you will not be disappointed.” – Sarah

FAQ's

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the visit. However, other people will be visiting the Tower of London at the same time.
Will we see the Crown Jewels?
Once inside the Tower of London area, there might be a line to visit the Crown Jewels, which can sometimes be extremely long during high season. This line cannot be skipped. If the line is too long, the guide will take you to the White Tower (also very impressive and a lot more interactive for children) and leave you in front of the Crown Jewels area so you can visit them without the guide. This will truly avoid wasting precious time.
Will we wait in line?
On busy days, you might have to wait a little before going inside the Tower of London. Although we do have special tickets, security lines cannot be cut. The lines in front of the Crown Jewels cannot be avoided.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. Younger kids can join, and they will enjoy it, but they will not be able to play the game, unless a parent or older sibling helps.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Technically, it is possible to bring a stroller or wheelchair.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure, they will. They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
