Description

Hop on a scooter (manual scooters, not the motorized “italian” ones!) and ride along the banks of the Seine River, following your private, family-friendly guide. This fun-filled and safe means of transportation is a great way to discover some of the most iconic monuments of Paris and enjoy the life and animations of the pedestrian banks of the Seine River.

Once all geared up with the safety equipment (helmets, knee and elbow protections) and with your basic instruction in mind, it’s time to ride your scooters.

This 2-hour tour starts from of the Invalides, with its beautiful golden dome under which lies the tomb of Napoleon and ends at the Eiffel Tower. Along the way, you’ll get to see architectural wonders such as the beautiful Alexandre III bridge, the amazing glass dome of the Grand Palais, as well as many other noteworthy curiosities.

To keep your children highly engaged and entertained, they will each receive envelopes with game instructions and questions on what they see.

A great extension to this activity is our Going Up The Eiffel Tower experience, where your guide will take you all the way up the emblematic Iron Lady!

Warning: Please make sure you and your children know how to use a manual scooter, otherwise, it will not be possible to participate in this activity. Please also wear comfortable shoes!

FAQ's

Are these scooters electric?
No, these scooters are not electric, and you will have to kick back to move forward, just like in the old days! Oh, and by the way, these are not "Italian" scooters!
Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Do you supply protection / safety gear?
Yes we do. All children will need to wear a safety helmet as well as hand, knee and elbow protection. If parents give their approval for the kids to ride without this protection, Family Twist will not be held responsible should an accident occur.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. But our family-friendly guide will be able to adapt to younger children if necessary, as long as they feel comfortable riding a scooter.
How difficult is the scooter ride?
The banks of the Seine are flat, so there are no difficulties. It is very easy, and the physical efforts demanded are limited. To enjoy this tour though, all family members must be comfortable riding scooters.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place if it rains (unless snow or heavy rain falls and it is just not possible for security reasons). Just remember to bring a rain coat.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
