Florence is, and always has been, a major contributor to fine artisan crafts.

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide and let them take you on a fascinating walking tour through the narrow, charming streets of Florence in search of its best traditional craft artisans.

During this 2-hour tour, you will get a chance to see three of the most iconic workshops in the city and meet face to face with the people that keep these old traditions alive today. These friendly and passionate artisans will let you take a behind-the-scenes look at their workshop, where goods have been produced for countless generations of kings, queens and noble families from all over the world.

You will see a leather worker, a silversmith and a traditional frame maker, all of whom continue to produce goods following methods passed down from generation to generation. These visits depend on the time and day of the tour.

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the visit. However, there will be other people visiting the selected shops at the same time.
When is the best time to take this tour?
It is always better to experience this activity in the low season, as streets and boutiques will not be as crowded. That said, these artisans are not popular touristic destinations, and you will be welcomed like a friend, unlike other big tourist traps.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
Hopping from shop to shop is not something that very young children will take pleasure in. Even if we have designed this tour for families with children, keeping in mind that children will have to be kept entertained and engaged, we recommend this tour for children older than 6.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Yes, it is possible to enjoy this activity if you have reduced mobility or if you have a stroller. Please be aware that in many streets, there are very small sidewalks, which are not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs, so you will have to stay on the road. There are also many cobblestone streets: it can therefore become quite a bumpy ride.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will. Our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
