Description

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide at the foot of “Le Rocher”, the hill on top of which lies the old city center of Monaco. Monaco, or as some people call it, Monte-Carlo, is the second smallest country in the world after the Vatican. Follow your guide as they take you through the narrow streets to the most iconic highlights.

Start your discovery by walking towards the top of the hill, and listen to your guide as they tell you all about the exciting history of the Principality. Not only will you have the most beautiful view of the coastline, but you will also pass by the Prince’s Palace of Monaco, where all the Princes and Princesses of Monaco have lived.

After a short walk inside the old town, discover the inside of the Cathedral, with its peculiar architecture. This is the final resting place of the American actress-turned-Princess Grace Kelly.

Make your way towards the Oceanographic Museum, the third true highlight of Monaco. Acting as an active research center since it was built, the Museum was directed by the famous oceanographer Jacques Yves Cousteau for many years.

This 1.5-hour walking tour ends with an enjoyable stroll through the gardens before going back down the hill. To keep the children engaged and entertained throughout this lovely walk, they will each get a fun-filled game booklet.

For the full experience, combine this activity with our Exploring Cousteau’s Underwater World, which will take you inside the Oceanographic Museum.

FAQ's

Is this a private tour?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. But our family-friendly guide will be able to adapt to younger children if necessary.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
How difficult is the walking part?
You’ll need to climb up a hill to reach the old town of Monaco. This is the only part that can be a little bit challenging, but do not worry, the guide will take the time you need to climb up the stairs. Once on top of “Le Rocher”, it is all flat.
Do we go inside the highlights?
The Cathedral is the only highlight you will see from the inside. The Prince’s Palace and the Oceanographic Museum will be seen from the outside, but you are more than welcome to visit them on your own at the end of the tour. We even have a great activity called “Exploring Cousteau’s Underwater World” which focuses on the Oceanographic Museum.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. Just remember to bring an umbrella. There are plenty of areas where you will be able to hide from the rain.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
