Description

The Doge’s Palace was the political heart of a country once called the Most Serene Republic of Venice. Meet your private, fully-licensed guide in front of the Palace and follow them as they take you through the deepest and darkest secrets of the Palace, to places less accessible to the public…

After an introduction inside the courtyard, you will soon be climbing up the Golden Staircase that leads to the official chambers of the Palace. Let your guide tell you all the stories and fun facts related to this fascinating and beautiful building! From the Chamber of the Great Council, Europe’s biggest room, to the Council of 10, where those who plotted against the state or those with bad social behaviors were trialed, enjoy this engaging and entertaining kid-friendly visit.

Then, follow your guide as they take you into the secret part of the Doge’s Palace… Let them take you to the dark and creepy prison cells where the famous Casanova was once held prisoner, as well as the other secret chambers of the Palace. This offers an interesting behind-the-scenes look into how the affairs of the state were managed back in the day.

Each child will get a game booklet, keeping them engaged from start to finish.

Attention: Children aged 6 or younger are not allowed inside the “secret” parts of the Doges Palace for security reasons according to the new rules and regulations established by the monument.

FAQ's

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the visit. However, there will be other people visiting the Doge’s Palace at the same time.
When is the best time to visit the Doge’s Palace?
During the summer season and special holidays, there is no best time, as the Doge’s Palace is always very crowded. But the skip-the-line tickets will avoid any long waits in line to enter the Doge’s Palace. The crowds are less in the winter months.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
Children aged 6 or younger are not allowed to enter the "secret" part of the Doge's Palace, according to the new rules and regulations.
Will we have to wait in line?
We provide skip-the-line tickets, but on very busy days, there might be some waiting (security checks). Our guides will do their best to try to avoid these lines.
Is the visit of the “secret” part of the Palace private?
These parts of the Palace can be visited by anyone, but only on a guided tour with large groups. We offer them privately, so you will have the impression to be on your own inside these other parts of the Palace. The “normal” parts of the Palace will also be visited.
Once the tour is finished, can we stay in the Doge’s Palace?
You can stay inside the Doge’s Palace at the end of the tour, but you will not be able to go through the “secret” parts of the Palace again. Once you exit the building, it will not be possible to get back inside.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
There are a lot of stairs and small corridors in the secret part of the Doge’s Palace so it is not recommended for strollers or wheelchairs.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will. They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
