Description

Vienna was home to the most famous classical music composers of all time: Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, Schubert, Mahler

Let us take you and your family to some of the most iconic places where these people have lived, performed or worked in Vienna.

Meet your professional, family-friendly guide at the foot of Saint Steven’s Cathedral, where Mozart got married and where he baptized his 6 children, and follow them as they take you through the small streets of the city center in search of where these genius composers once lived. Hear about how they lived and interacted with each other, and surely the countless fun facts will keep your children engaged.

This tour ends at the Music Museum (Haus der Muzik) where you and your children will be able to listen to their music but also maybe even conduct your own digital orchestra (upon availability).

Our Footsteps of Mozart and Friends tour is a great way to get to know more about these famous classical composers and learn about music of the 18th century.

FAQ's

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour. But there will be other people visiting the museum of course.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. For smaller children, it is possible to shorten the walking tour and spend more time at the museum, which is suitable for them as highly interactive.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Will we have to wait in line?
We provide skip-the-line tickets, but on very busy days, there might be a line for security checks which cannot be avoided. The wait should not last long though.
Once the tour is finished, can we stay inside the museum or go back in?
Of course, you are free to stay inside the museum if you wish to continue exploring it at the end. Our tour cannot cover the whole building so there are many things left to explore once it is over. However, if you exit the building, you will not be able to get back inside.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Yes, the Haus der Musik is stroller and wheelchair friendly as there is an elevator to access all the different levels.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
What happens if it rains during the tour?
The tour cannot be canceled and will take place. Just remember to bring an umbrella. There are plenty of areas where you will be able to hide from the rain.
