Spend some wonderful time with your children in Florence as you explore this charming city through fun-filled and cultural experiences such as a walking tour, a visit of the Uffizi Gallery and the Galileo Museum, and a hands-on gold-leaf painting workshop.
DAY 1: FLORENCE WALKING TOUR
Your English-speaking chauffeur will welcome you at the airport of Florence. Hop into the fully-equipped Mercedes V-class minivan and let them drive you comfortably to your hotel. Lunch at leisure.
In the afternoon, meet your private, fully-licensed guide at your hotel. Follow them as they take you through the small pedestrian streets of Florence in search of the city’s most famous highlights, such as Piazza Della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s oldest bridge. Gaze at Bruneslleschi’s distinctive dome and the imposing multi-colored marble cathedral on Piazza del Duomo. The Giotto Bell Tower, along with other hidden gems, are also on the list of marvels you will discover. The tour will end by a visit of the Accademia Gallery (around 1-hour) to see the David Statue of Michelangelo. To keep your children engaged and entertained, they will each receive a fun-filled game booklet at the start of the walking tour.
DAY 2: THE UFFIZI GALLERY AND PAINTING WORKSHOP
In the morning, meet your private, fully-licensed guide in front of the Uffizi Gallery. Let them take you through all the major highlights of one of the oldest art museums in the world. This 2-hour privately-guided tour is a unique chance to see works of art such as Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, Da Vinci’s Annunciation and Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo with your children. They will each get a fun-filled game booklet to keep them engaged and entertained throughout the tour. Lunch at leisure.
In the afternoon, meet your private, experienced art teacher in their charming atelier located near Palazzo Pitti. After a basic introduction and some recommendations, each member of your family will work on their own gold leaf painting. This art is trickier than it looks as the gold leaves are so thin that they are very fragile and can blow away as you exhale! Take up the challenge and at the end of this 2.5-hour artistic workshop, you will leave the atelier with your own copy of an Italian masterpiece.
DAY 3: THE GALILEO MUSEUM
In the morning, meet your private, experienced family-friendly guide at the Galileo museum. Let them show you the most interesting and amazing areas of the Galileo Museum and tell you all about the life of the famous astronomer. They will explain the real functions of the instruments on display in the museum. From telescopes and thermometers to huge globes and mathematical objects, you and your children will bathe in a world of impressive discoveries and inventions that have played key roles in shaping the world we live in today. This tour comes with an entertaining game booklet. Lunch at leisure.
Depending on your flight schedule, your chauffeur will drive you to the airport or train station.
