Spend some wonderful time with your children in Rome as you explore iconic monuments such as the Colosseum, the Trevi Fountain or the Vatican, enjoy delicious local dishes and take part in fun-filled, hands-on workshops linked to the local culture, such as creating your own mosaic masterpiece or becoming a gladiator.
DAY 1: A WALK THROUGH ROME
Your English-speaking chauffeur will welcome you at the airport. Hop into the fully-equipped Mercedes V-class minivan and let them drive you comfortably to your hotel. Lunch at leisure.
In the afternoon, meet your private, fully-licensed guide and get ready to explore the treasures of Rome’s city center. Follow them on this 2-hour walking tour as they take you to some of Rome’s most iconic places such as the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the beautiful Piazza Navona, the Pantheon as well as hidden gems found along the way. The children will have a map and an orientation game to make the discovery of the city even more exciting!
DAY 2: THE VATICAN AND A MOSAIC WORKSHOP
In the morning, make sure to dress respectfully and ensure that shoulders and knees are covered (otherwise you will be denied entry) before heading to the Vatican. Let your private, fully-licensed guide take you inside the Vatican, the world’s smallest country and home to the Pope. Our skip-the-line tickets will grant you a quick entrance into the Vatican Museum, where you will visit some of the highlights including the long hall that will lead you to the Sistine Chapel. The tour ends inside the jaw-dropping Saint Peter’s Basilica, the biggest basilica in the world. Each child will get a game booklet that will make this cultural visit both enjoyable and interesting. Lunch at leisure.
After lunch, let your private, experienced mosaic teacher tell you all about the ancient art of mosaic-making in a genuine professional mosaic workshop located in downtown Rome. Once you have picked your favorite platter, just pay attention to the instructions and you’ll have your own mosaic masterpiece in 2 hours. After cutting the tiles and placing them on the platters, add the finishing touches before walking out with your own beautiful mosaic creation!
DAY 3: THE COLOSSEUM AND A GLADIATOR EXPERIENCE
In the morning, meet your private, family-friendly guide and let them take you back some 2,000 years ago on a wonderful tour of the Colosseum of Rome. Learn about the structure and set-up of this amphitheater as well as the gladiators: fearless warriors who used to fight each other or wild animals for entertainment purposes. Each child will be offered an entertaining game booklet at the beginning of the visit, full of questions and riddles to keep them engaged. Lunch at leisure.
After lunch, our chauffeur will drive you to the training camp in the suburbs of Rome. Your private, experienced instructor will give you the training you would have needed to become a successful and popular gladiator some 2,000 years ago. Listen to their instructions and stories about the gladiators: their lives, their art, and of course, the equipment and weapons they used during their combats. You will be able to hold the swords, nets, helmets and tridents that these courageous fighters would carry into the arena and take part in a private training session to learn the moves and the techniques that would have saved your life in the arena. All this is done in the safest environment possible (no face-to-face combat!). At the end of the activity, your chauffeur will drive you back to your hotel.
DAY 4: ROME FOOD TOUR
In the morning, meet your private, family-friendly foodie guide near Piazza Farnese and let them introduce you to some famous Italian delicatessen, from pizza bianca to mortadella, from suppli to gelato as well as seasonal Roman specialties.
