Description
Meet your private, experienced teacher at the entrance of the Kinloch Anderson Museum. She will lead you through this charming museum in search of displays of ancient Scottish tartan attire where you will also view kilts are being made. Kinloch Anderson is a sixth generation firm of manufacturers producing tartans of the highest quality. They also hold the Royal Warrant.
Once this 30-minute visit to the museum is over, hop into a private minivan to reach the design atelier.
You and your family are about to become new tartan designers. Your teacher will inspire you, based on what you have seen at the museum, to produce your own miniature tartan costumes.
Each member will have his/her picture taken which will form the basis of your two-dimensional design. Using traditional craft methods and a range of tartans, by the end of the workshop you will have produced your very own traditional Scottish highlander portrait with a twist. This unusual masterpiece will be yours to keep.
