Description
Food is at the heart of life in Puglia, where every ingredient tells a story of the land, the seasons, and generations of family traditions. This immersive experience invites your family to discover the region beyond its recipes, meeting the people and producers who make its cuisine so unique.
Led by expert sommeliers in both wine and extra virgin olive oil, your journey begins with an introduction to the history, culture, and gastronomy of Puglia before visiting Lecce’s oldest produce market. As you stroll through the city’s beautiful Baroque streets, you’ll discover how local traditions, architecture, and daily life have evolved together over the centuries.
Back at Puglia’s oldest cooking school, you will prepare a complete traditional meal together, from fresh handmade pasta to seasonal specialties and local side dishes. Along the way, you’ll learn about regional ingredients, breads, grains, and vegetables while enjoying guided tastings of the school’s own extra virgin olive oils and carefully selected local wines. After your meal, those wishing to continue the experience can discover a selection of traditional Italian bitters during an optional tasting.
Meeting and ending point: Under the column in Piazza Sant’Oronzo, Lecce.
