Description

If there is one Portuguese pastry everyone in your family will fall in love with, it would have to be the pasteis de nata (Portugese custard tarts). And what better idea than learning how to make them, along with other traditional local pastries?

Meet your private, experienced pastry chef in a private cooking class located in the heart of Lisbon. After a few words of introduction on the origin of these Portuguese sweet delights, everyone will get their hands on the dough.

Using only the best and freshest ingredients, follow the advice of your private chef to make these delicious treats. Even the youngest children will have fun, breaking the eggs, playing with the flour and kneading the dough.

You will all walk out of this private pastry baking class with a box full of homemade traditional Portuguese pastries, which will serve as great-tasting snacks for the rest of your trip.

FAQ's

Is this a private activity?
It sure is. Your family members will be the only ones in the cooking class, along with your private chef (and assistant).
Do the parents participate?
Of course! Everyone will get their hands on the dough. Depending on the age of the children, parents might be the only ones allowed to use knives or get close to the stove or oven.
How many pastries will we make?
The quantity of food prepared and taken after the class is enough to serve as a snack for a couple of days.
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
Because this pastry baking class does not involve knives, fire, and pots and pans, it is highly recommended for young children. However, the very young ones will stay at a safe distance from anything dangerous, such as the oven for example. Sheets of paper and crayons are there if they feel more like an artist than a chef.
Can you make gluten free pastries / can you cope with food allergies or other intolerances?
We can adapt to any food allergy or intolerance as long as this information has been given to us prior to the day of the activity. If information is given during the cooking class, your chef will do their best to adapt to your needs and tastes.
Do we need to bring special material or ingredients?
No. All you need to bring is a big smile and the will to prepare some delicious pastries. We will take care of the rest.
Do we get the recipes of what we prepared?
Of course, we will send you the recipes by email once the baking class is over (this might take a few days).
Will my teenage kids like the activity?
The ability to prepare mouth-watering pastries is a skill that everyone should have. If your teens do not like cooking, this might be a great way to get them to start liking it!
