The Château de Chenonceau is second most visited château in the Loire Valley, just after the Château de Chambord, and because it is fully furnished, it makes this experience truly magical.

Meet your private, fully-licensed guide at the entrance of the chateau and let them tell you all about the secrets of this palace built over the Cher River. Learn about the history of the royals that once lived here and explore the many rooms of this beautifully decorated property. Take some time to discover the wonderful gardens, and why not go all the way to the maze and get lost as you try to make your way to its center.

To keep the children engaged and entertained throughout this 2-hour visit, they will each get an exciting game booklet.

Our Charms of Chenonceau tour is truly the best way to visit this must-see highlight of the Loire Valley region with your children.

This tour is available in the following languages : English, French

“Catherine was amazing! She is incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. She even took a few extra minutes at the beginning to greet all 3 of my children in French (which I was hoping she’d do!), because they’re trying to learn the language. We had a group of 9 people in age from 7 to 80, and she captivated all of us with the history and stories of Chenonceau. Hers was exactly the kind of knowledge depth we were hoping to find in a guide, and I would book another Family Twist tour in a heartbeat!” – Jennica

Is this tour private?
Yes, it is. No one else will be joining your private tour, and you will have your own private guide throughout the tour. But there will be other people visiting the Chateau de Chenonceau of course.
How can I get there?
The best way is by car. If you want us to handle the transfer from your hotel to the Chateau de Chenonceau and back, please let us know.
Are the parents staying with the children or separated?
We always promote a family-bonding moment, where parents and children enjoy an activity together as a family. So, parents and children will not be separated. However, if you choose to send your children on this activity alone, it is possible, provided that a babysitter accompanies the children regardless of the age, for insurance purposes (our guides are not responsible for the children).
Is it suitable for kids under 6 years old?
We recommend this tour for kids aged 6 or older, because they must know how to read and write in order to enjoy the fun-filled game booklet. Younger kids are welcome and will be amazed by the grandeur of the Chateau, but parents will have to keep an eye on them. Remember, your private guide is not a babysitter.
Will we have to wait in line?
We provide skip-the-line tickets, but on very busy days, there might be a line for security checks which cannot be avoided. The wait will not last long though.
Once the tour is finished, can we stay inside the Chateau or go back in?
Yes, you can stay in the chateau or walk in the park (a very nice stroll). But once you leave the enclosed property, you will not be able to get back inside.
Can I bring a stroller or a wheelchair?
Yes, the Chateau is wheelchair friendly but some of the rooms might not be accessible. The same goes for strollers.
Will my teenage kids like the tour?
Sure they will! They might not want to have the game booklet, but since it is a private tour, our professional guide will adapt their speech to keep your teenagers engaged and entertained throughout the tour.
